It also sets the tone for the rest of the interior which embraces revamped insulation making the house far more energy-efficient. The extensive use of glass also ushers in ample natural ventilation enlivening the other rooms of the house as well.
Crafted by Tel Aviv-based studio Pitsou Kedem Architects and architect the house has a cottage-style silhouette. Yet the use of a steel frame and large glass windows gives it an inherent modern vibe. The defining feature of is its expansive backyard with a spacious wooden deck luxurious seating and a lavish pool. Smartly placed trees and charming LED lighting further accentuate the tranquil appeal of this outdoor space.
While respecting the design of the original structure and its overall form the extension project added a full floor a front and a rear wing that were more modern in design. One of the defining traits of the residence is the use of custom-made operable louvers that usher in ample light both inside the living spaces and in the bathroom. The outdoor courtyard is visually connected with the indoors thanks to the sliding glass doors while a monochromatic color scheme in black and white keeps the home uncluttered and elegant.
Yet the real focus of this house is the brilliant array of interior lighting which enhances and harmonizes with the view outside. The day starts off with cool yellows and the bright natural mid-day light soon takes over. The tranquil oranges of the sunset takeover as dusk starts to set in and the night time is lit up by purples and blues of the city skyline in the background even as warm ambient illumination sets the mood
